Abstract
The recognition of abnormal behavior in systemic lupus ergthematosus(SLE) is not new. As early as 1875, Hebra and Kaposi reported this, and in 1900, Sir William Osler noted that SLE was frequently accompanied by mental and neurological changes.
Neuropsychiatric manifestations are now being reported in up to 60% of patients with SLE. Psychiatric abnormalities that can occur in SLE include psychosis, neurosis, affective disorders pd organic mental syndromes.
K . We here report a case of SLE associated with the symptoms of bipolar disorder in a 21 yr-old woman and review about the psychiatric aspect of SLE.
